Councillor Mark Gladding
I wanted to be a Councillor so that I could play an active role in the community and help shape the future of our town. I would like to make Long Stratton an even better place to live.
My interests and hobbies include badminton, running, chess, history and playing the guitar.
Councillor Robert (Bob) Mackenzie
Councillor Edward Earp
My name is Edward (Eddie) Earp. I was born in Coventry in 1943 and attended Barkers Butts Secondary School.
At the age of 15 ½ I joined the Royal Navy and having a keen interest in aviation I chose the Fleet Air Arm as my preferred branch of the service. I served for 12 years and visited many countries. On my discharge my technical training got me employment with Rolls Royce Aerospace where I stayed for 25 years.
I was married to Valerie for 53 years and have 2 children, Michele and Stephen.
Michele has lived and worked in Long Stratton for the past 36 years and I have got to know the town over that period and seen it grow. I am very happy to have made Long Stratton my permanent home and to be near to my daughter and grandson Lucas.
I have always had a strong sense of civic duty and now have the time to participate and hopefully be of use to the community that I am proud to serve.
Councillor Judith Baker
I have lived in Long Stratton for most of my life. I worked for 34 years at Manor Road Infant School. I have been on the Council for 22 years. I joined the council as I am interested in serving the community.
I am on the Planning and Highway Committee and Leisure and Pavilion Committee.
Councillor Diane Woodham
Councillor Jill Callaghan
In 1988 I moved to Norfolk, with a partner, from Muswell Hill in North London and we bought a house in Pulham Market. I set up an intensive driving course school and my partner set up a garage. Over the years I
became involved in many village activities including:
Twenty years involvement with Pulham Players Amateur Dramatic Society -
producing, on stage and serving on the committee (3 years as Chair).
8 years serving on the Parish Council (5 as Chair).
12 years serving on the Pulham Market Memorial Hall committee (8 as Chair)
Four years serving on St Mary's PCC (3 as secretary).
I also helped with the Community Car Scheme and produced the Village
Diary for 5 years.
Since coming to Long Stratton I have become more involved with the
church; I serve on the PCC and am a member of the Open The Book team
which goes into the Junior School every week.
I am a member of the Long Stratton Leisure Centre and do yoga classes
there several times a week.
I am interested in the built environment and history of Long Stratton,
now experiencing major development and change, I would like to be part
of the change process and help our town grow in confidence and beauty.
Councillor Kelly Lunness
Originally I came from Norwich and moved to Long Stratton 36 years ago when I gained employment with South Norfolk Council. I started in the building division and transferred to the environmental health department as a Client Officer overseeing contracted out services.
I then obtained my H.N.C in waste management including environmental law. The Council created a environmental crime team to carryout enforcement action on waste management issues.
In 2000 I joined Norfolk Fire & Rescue service as a retained firefighter, which I found very rewarding. I was with the fire service for approximately 12 year and left the service as a crew manager.
Within my role in the Council I was promoted to environmental crime manager. After several years the council had a restructure and I was promoted to operations manager over all functions relating to waste management and street cleansing.
I took early retirement in 2014 and have recently took an interest in the activities of the Town Council and I wanted to get involved to raise the profile of the village and council as well of making improvements that would be beneficial to residents.
