Originally I came from Norwich and moved to Long Stratton 36 years ago when I gained employment with South Norfolk Council. I started in the building division and transferred to the environmental health department as a Client Officer overseeing contracted out services.

I then obtained my H.N.C in waste management including environmental law. The Council created a environmental crime team to carryout enforcement action on waste management issues.

In 2000 I joined Norfolk Fire & Rescue service as a retained firefighter, which I found very rewarding. I was with the fire service for approximately 12 year and left the service as a crew manager.

Within my role in the Council I was promoted to environmental crime manager. After several years the council had a restructure and I was promoted to operations manager over all functions relating to waste management and street cleansing.

I took early retirement in 2014 and have recently took an interest in the activities of the Town Council and I wanted to get involved to raise the profile of the village and council as well of making improvements that would be beneficial to residents.

I moved to Long Stratton a few years ago having retired after a life in Science Education.

I wanted to be a Town Councillor after spending a couple of years on the Neighbourhood Planning Team and would like to contribute to bringing that vision into reality. There will be a lot of change ahead of us both locally and globally especially in terms of climate change. We need the resilience to cope with these changes as a community and be respectful of the natural environment that supports us. It is in this context that I see my role as a councillor. In particular I want to see the best use is made of our limited resources and reduce waste.

I have lived in the town of Long Stratton for over 12 years. I have a young family and have work as a class teacher at the local infant school. I hope that I can put forward the views of families like my own and continue to influence positive change for the young people in our community.

I really enjoy living in Long Stratton. Before moving here in 2017 I lived in Selly Oak, before then Coventry, Nottingham, Stowmarket, and South London.

I moved here to be near my extended family and raise my own. Long Stratton is a safe, friendly, and well equipped town.

I am glad to be a councillor, to listen to you and play a part in serving this town.
